The right to freedom of association involves the right of individuals to interact and organize among themselves to collectively express, promote, pursue and defend common interests. This includes the right to form trade unions and Civil Society Organizations.
A part of my mandate and the promise I made to the membership and the nation at large, was to use the umbrella status of the ULS to ensure the rule of law. As the ULS we shall continue engaging core stakeholders to discuss issues concerning Freedom of association, and draw a way forward on the subject to ensure that the government in its actions remain strictly adhering to the legal and regulatory framework.
