The Rule of Law Department

The Rule of Law Department undertakes activities in fulfillment of the Objective¬†“to promote the rule of law and human rights protection.

Some of these activities include; consolidation and production of main ULS publications; provision of professional support to collective processes of law review and reform; running promotion of rule of law drives, and undertaking public policy research and analysis to highlight policy gaps and/or need to be addressed. Essentially, the Department undertakes the above activities with an objective to contribute to strengthening Rule of Law frameworks and to promote and protect Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Uganda. In delivering its responsibilities, the Department works mainly in collaboration with other Departments, the Executive Council, the ULS Research and Publications Committee, the Rule of Law Committee and various ULS expert law clusters as well as external stakeholders.
